지금 아무리 북방 적마의 세력이 아시아의 큰 땅 덩어리를 집어삼키고 동방 해 돋는 나라의 남쪽 작은 나라가 남은 이 땅이지만 선지의 예언을 비추어 보면 이사야는 종말적인 기독교 역사는 동방 땅 끝 해 돋는 나라라고 분명히 말했던 것입니다(사41:2~3, 15, 사24:15, 사46:11).

인간의 인류 역사는 강대국의 역사를 비롯하여 이루어진 것입니다. 그러나 이 본문을 보면 강대국의 백성들까지도 예물을 가지고 시온으로 온다고 했습니다.
그러면 강대국의 힘은 어느 시기까지 보전 될 것이냐 하는데 있어서 바벨론 왕 느브갓네살은 큰 꿈을 본 사실도 있습니다(단2:31~35). 이 꿈은 강대국인 바벨론을 비롯하여 이 땅에 성도의 나라가 올 때까지 역사적인 강대국은 우상으로 보여줬던 것입니다. 이것은 왜냐 할 때 세상 강대국은 생명 없는 우상에 불과하다는 것입니다.
바벨론 시대로부터 금, 은, 동, 철, 반철, 반토로 인류 역사상 강대국을 표준 하여 보여준 것이니 바벨론 문명, 파사 문명, 헬라 문명, 로마 문명을 비롯하여 세계적인 기독교 복음으로 문명을 가져온 현실에 양대 진영으로 철과 흙같이 되어 있는 것은 부인 할 수 없는 사실입니다.

그러나 이사야는 18장에 슬프다 구스의 강 건너편이여 하는 슬픈 경고의 말을 쓰게 되었습니다. 왜냐하면 남방 구스 강 건너편 아프리카는 새로운 시대가 올 때까지 강대국을 의뢰하는 연약한 자로서 끝을 보고 말겠다고 하나님께서는 이사야를 통하여 말씀했던 것입니다.
다니엘선지도 인류 종국을 고하는 전쟁은 사상과 정치가 남북으로 대립되어 역사적으로 없던 환란을 이루게 됩니다. 이때에 구스 땅 리비아(아프리카)는 북방의 시종을 들다가 세상 끝을 보리라고 말했습니다. 이때에 북방 강대국의 세력은 동북의 소문을 듣고 번민을 하다가 어쩔 줄 모르고 발악을 하다가 망하게 될 때 시대는 끝이 난다고 말했습니다(단11:43~44).

@ Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
Behold, I will make you a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff. @ 지렁이 같은 너 야곱아, 너희 이스라엘 사람들아 두려워 말라 나 여호와가 말하노니 내가 너를 도울 것이라 네 구속자는 이스라엘의 거룩한 자니라. 보라 내거 너로 이가 날카로운 새 타작 기계를 삼으리니 네가 산들을 쳐서 부스러기를 만들 것이며 작은 산들로 겨 같게 할 것이라. 네가 그들을 까부른즉 바람이 그것을 날리겠고 회리바람이 그것을 흩어버릴 것이로되 너는 여호와로 인하여 즐거워하겠고 이스라엘의 거룩한 자로 인하여 자랑하리라(사41:14~16).

* 우리는 시온의 힘을 체험한 사실을 증거 할 진리가 됩니다. 만일 기독교가 시온의 힘이 무엇인지를 체험한 사실이 없다면 금일에 기독교는 큰 위기를 만나서 잠잠히 잠이 들고 말 때가 왔다고 해도 과언이 아닙니다.
그러나 여호와를 앙망하는 자는 새 힘을 얻고 독수리 같이 올라가고 피곤이 없이 걸어가는 역사가 있으므로 세계 민족을 새롭게 하고 열왕을 굴복시킨다고 이사야 41장에 분명히 가르쳤습니다. 이 힘은 받은 자 밖에는 모르는 것입니다.

@ 섬들아 내 앞에 잠잠하라 민족들아 힘을 새롭게 하라 가까이 나아오라 그리하고 말하라 우리가 가까이 하여 서로 변론하자누가 동방에서 사람을 일으키며 의로 불러서 자기 발 앞에 이르게 하였느뇨 열국으로 그 앞에 굴복케 하며 그로 왕들을 치리하게 하되 그들로 그의 칼에 티끌 같게, 그의 활에 불리는 초개같게 하며(사41:1~2).
