This chapter is about Hezekiah's sickness, and when he is dead, he will tell again through Isaiah that the word of God can not be found again. He is not disappointed, but I have done the truth and the whole heart before the Lord, I up loaded a tear appeal to see if I could see you.
At this time the LORD saw the tears and responded to the prayer, and he extended his life for another fifteen years to deliver the people out of the hand of Assyria.
God showed Hezekiah a clear testimony and gave Hezekiah new courage, so he was able to fulfill his mission. This is a testament to the promise of giving health to the body of a burning servant, no matter how dangerous a life may be in the end.
본 장은 히스기야가 병들어 죽게 될 때에 그는 다시 세상에 더 있지 못한다는 하나님의 말씀이 이사야를 통하여 알려 올적에 그는 낙심하지 않고 사명에 불타는 마음에서 내가 주 앞에 진실과 전심을 다했으나 하나님이여 이 민족을 어찌 하시리까? 하는 눈물의 호소를 올렸습니다.
이때에 여호와께서 그 눈물을 보시고 기도를 응답하사 수한을 15년을 더 연장시켜 그 민족을 앗수르의 손에서 건지게 하였습니다.
하나님은 확실한 증거를 보여 주면서 히스기야에게 새 용기를 주었으므로 그는 자기 사명을 다 할 수 있게 되었던 것입니다. 이것은 말세에 아무리 생명의 위태한 질병이 온다 해도 사명에 불타는 종의 몸에 건강을 주어서 쓰시겠다는 약속의 표증입니다.

* Is.38:1~8. In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus said the LORD, Set your house in order: for you shall die, and not live.
Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,
And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech you, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus said the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears: behold, I will add unto your days fifteen years.
And I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.
And this shall be a sign unto you from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he had spoken;
Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.
* 사38:1~8. 그 즈음에 히스기야가 병들어 죽게 되니 아모스의 아들 선지자 이사야가 나아와 그에게 이르되 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 너는 네 집에 유언하라 네가 죽고 살지 못하리라 하셨나이다. 히스기야가 얼굴을 벽으로 향하고 여호와께 기도하여 가로되 여호와여 구하오니 내가 주의 앞에서 진실과 전심으로 행하며 주의 목전에서 선하게 행한 것을 추억하옵소서. 하고 심히 통곡하니 이에 여호와의 말씀이 이사야에게 임하니라 가라사대 너는 가서 히스기야에게 이르기를 네 조상 다윗의 하나님 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 내가 네 기도를 들었고 네 눈물을 보았노라 내가 네 수한에 십 오년을 더하고 너와 이 성을 앗수르 왕의 손에서 건져내겠고 내가 또 이 성을 보호하리라. 나 여호와가 말한 것을 네게 이룰 증거로 이 징조를 네게 주리라. 보라 아하스의 일영표에 나아갔던 해 그림자를 뒤로 십도를 물러가게 하리라 하셨다 하라 하시더니 이에 일영표에 나아갔던 해의 그림자가 십도를 물러 가니라.

* the explanation) Hearing the message of Isaiah, the prophet, saying that  he was dead, he prayed with tears that Hezekiah had prayed toward the wall with truth and wholeheartedly, and hearing and saying, the sun dial is  ten degrees backward. I will add unto your days also gave me a sign.

* 강해) 죽게 되었으니 유언하라는 선지자 이사야의 말을 듣고 히스기야가 벽을 향하여 진실과 전심으로 행하였음을 눈물로 기도하니 들으시고 수한을 연장하여 주고 구원하여주고 수한을 연장하여 주는 징표로 일영표에 해의 그림자가 뒤도 십도를 물러가는 징조를 주셨습니다. 사명자를 사랑하시는 하나님의 성품이 잘 나타납니다.
 
* Is.38:9~22. The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:
I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.
I said, I shall not see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.
Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd's tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.
I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night wilt you make an end of me.
Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me.
What shall I say? he had both spoken unto me, and himself had done it: I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul.
O LORD, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live.
Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but you hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.
The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known your truth.
The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.
For Isaiah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaister upon the boil, and he shall recover.
Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the LORD?
* 사38:9~22. 유다 왕 히스기야가 병들었다가 그 병이 나을 때에 기록한 글이 이러하니라. 내가 말하기를 내가 중년에 음부의 문에 들어가고 여년을 빼앗기게 되리라 하였도다. 내가 또 말하기를 내가 다시는 여호와를 뵈옵지 못하리니 생존세계에서 다시는 여호와를 뵈옵지 못하겠고 내가 세상 거민 중에서 한 사람도 다시는 보지 못하리라 하였도다. 나의 거처는 목자의 장막을 걷음 같이 나를 떠나 옮겼고 내가 내 생명을 말기를 직공이 베를 걷어 말음 같이 하였도다 주께서 나를 틀에서 끊으시리니 나의 명이 조석 간에 마치리이다. 내가 아침까지 견디었사오나 주께서 사자 같이 나의 모든 뼈를 꺾으시오니 나의 명이 조석 간에 마치리이다. 나는 제비 같이, 학 같이 지저귀며 비둘기 같이 슬피 울며 나의 눈이 쇠하도록 앙망하나이다 여호와여 내가 압제를 받사오니 나의 중보가 되옵소서. 주께서 내게 말씀하시고 또 친히 이루셨사오니 내가 무슨 말씀을 하오리이까 내 영혼의 고통을 인하여 내가 종신토록 각근히 행하리이다. 주여 사람의 사는 것이 이에 있고 내 심령의 생명도 온전히 거기 있사오니 원컨대 나를 치료하시며 나를 살려주옵소서. 보옵소서. 내게 큰 고통을 더하신 것은 내게 평안을 주려 하심이라 주께서 나의 영혼을 사랑하사 멸망의 구덩이에서 건지셨고 나의 모든 죄는 주의 등 뒤에 던지셨나이다. 음부가 주께 사례하지 못하며 사망이 주를 찬양하지 못하며 구덩이에 들어간 자가 주의 신실을 바라지 못하되 오직 산 자 곧 산 자는 오늘날 내가 하는 것과 같이 주께 감사하며 주의 신실을 아비가 그 자녀에게 알게 하리이다. 여호와께서 나를 구원하시리니 우리가 종신토록 여호와의 전에서 수금으로 나의 노래를 노래하리로다. 이사야는 이르기를 한 뭉치 무화과를 취하여 종처에 붙이면 왕이 나으리라. 하였었고 히스기야도 말하기를 내가 여호와의 전에 올라갈 징조가 무엇이뇨 하였었더라.

* the explanation) Hezekiah cried and prayed not for his own sake but for the nation. It is strong that if we try to destroy the communist party by destroying the ideology of patriotism and robust ideology, we will become stronger.

Here in verse 8, 40 minutes, the sun dial is ten degrees backward, and when Joshua was fighting the Amorites in Joshua 10:12~13 and  the time when the sun stayed almost all day on Gibeon was 23 hours and 20 minutes.
It has been confirmed that one day in history has gone away. 
* 강해) 히스기야가 울며 기도한 것은 자기 위해서 한 것이 아니고 민족 위해 기도했던 것입니다. 멸공 사상 강하고 애국 애족 사상이 투철하여 공산당 때려 부수려고 애쓰면 강건해진다는 것입니다.
하나님의 예정이지만 개인 사명문제는 변경 시킬 수 있는 것입니다. 사명에 불타서 기도하면 건강 축복이 옵니다. 택한 자에게 어려움과 고통은 더 좋은 것을 주시는 것이며 더욱 사랑을 깨닫고 영계를 높이고 영광을 주시는 모략적인 방법입니다.
이때에 충성과 진실을 다해서 인정을 받아야 합니다.
여기 8절에 일영표가 십도 뒤로 물러간 시간 40분과 여호수아10:12~13에 여호수아가 아모리 족속과 싸우던 때에 태양이 기브온 위에 거의 종일토록 머무른 시간이 23시간 20분이 합하여 하루가 되는데 과학적으로 역사적 검증을 해보니 역사상에 하루가 없어졌던 것이 확인된 사실입니다.

@ Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.(Josh.10:12~13)
@ 여호와께서 아모리 사람을 이스라엘 자손에게 붙이시던 날에 여호수아가 여호와께 고하되 이스라엘 목전에서 가로되 태양아 너는 기브온 위에 머무르라 달아 너도 아얄론 골짜기에 그리할찌어다 하매 태양이 머물고 달이 그치기를 백성이 그 대적에게 원수를 갚도록 하였느니라 야살의 책에 기록되기를 태양이 중천에 머물러서 거의 종일토록 속히 내려가지 아니하였다 하지 아니하였느냐(수10:12~13).
@ And Isaiah said, This sign shalt you have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he had spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees? And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees. And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz(2Kgs.20:9~11).
@ 이사야가 가로되 여호와의 하신 말씀을 응하게 하실 일에 대하여 여호와께로서 왕에게 한 징조가 임하리이다 해 그림자가 십도를 나아갈 것이니이까 혹 십도를 물러갈 것이니이까. 히스기야가 대답하되 그림자가 십도를 나아가기는 쉬우니 그리할 것이 아니라 십도가 물러갈 것이니이다. 선지자 이사야가 여호와께 간구하매 아하스의 일영표 위에 나아갔던 해 그림자로 십도를 물러가게 하셨더라(열하20:9~11)
