본장은 심판의 경고 있은 다음 지체 없이 용서 없는 재앙이 오는데 말씀의 기근이 또한 온다는 것입니다.
* Essential verse: 12. And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.
* 요절: 12절. 사람이 이 바다에서 저 바다까지, 북에서 동까지 비틀거리며 여호와의 말씀을 구하려고 달려 왕래하되 얻지 못하리니

And the songs of the temple shall be how lings in that day, saith the Lord GOD: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth with silence.
* 암8:1~3. 주 여호와께서 또 내게 여름 실과 한 광주리를 보이시며 가라사대 아모스야 네가 무엇을 보느냐 내가 가로되 여름 실과 한 광주리니이다 하매 여호와께서 내게 이르시되 내 백성 이스라엘의 끝이 이르렀은즉 내가 다시는 저를 용서치 아니하리니 그 날에 궁전의 노래가 애곡으로 변할 것이며 시체가 많아서 사람이 잠잠히 처처에 내어버리리라 이는 주 여호와의 말씀이니라.

The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works. Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
* 암8:4~8. 궁핍한 자를 삼키며 땅의 가난한 자를 망케 하려는 자들아 이 말을 들으라. 너희가 이르기를 월삭이 언제나 지나서 우리로 곡식을 팔게 하며 안식일이 언제나 지나서 우리로 밀을 내게 할꼬 에바를 작게 하여 세겔을 크게 하며 거짓 저울로 속이며 은으로 가난한 자를 사며 신 한 켤레로 궁핍한 자를 사며 잿밀을 팔자 하는도다. 여호와께서 야곱의 영광을 가리켜 맹세하시되 내가 저희의 모든 소위를 영영 잊지 아니하리라 하셨나니 이로 인하여 땅이 떨지 않겠으며 그 가운데 모든 거민이 애통하지 않겠느냐 온 땅이 하수의 넘침 같이 솟아오르며 애굽 강 같이 뛰놀다가 낮아지리라.

미워하시는 것이 교권 쥐고 양떼 피 빠는 자이고 경제권 쥐고 빈민 피 빠는 자를 미워하신다는 것입니다. 정직하게 살지 않고 속이며 불량 식품을 팔고 형식적인 예배생활을 하게 되는 먹을 수 없는 악한 무화과 같은 신앙생활을 하는 자들입니다.

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day: And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.

They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, lived; and, The manner of Beersheba lived; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.

* 강해) 그 때는 아무리 진리를 들어 보려 해도 들어 볼 수 없는 날이니 진노의 날이 올 때 후회하며 말씀을 찾아 봤던들 다 쓰러지고 마는 것입니다. 말씀 한 번 전하고 나면 다시는 말씀을 들어 볼 수가 없게 된다는 것입니다. 동서로 가봐야 찾아도 없다는 것입니다. 그래서 신앙은 미리 준비를 해야 합니다. 환란 날에 애써봐야 소용이 없게 되는 것입니다. 새 시대 가는 확실한 진리는 촛대교회 뿐입니다. 여기서 각성 받고 소성 받아야 합니다.
